Antenatal Care

Care for expectant mothers is provided by the Doctors in conjunction with a team of Midwives from the Horton Hospital in Banbury.

We have weekly visits from The Blue Group Midwife Team - they attend for appointments on Monday lunch time. If you need to see a midwife other than this time please contact the Horton General Hospital on 01295 229190.

Child Health

Clinics are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, providing all childhood immunisations and developmental assessments. Invitations will normally be sent out when these are due.

Counselling service

The NHS in Oxfordshire now provides counselling call 'Talking Space'. If your GP feels that you would benefit from this service they will advise you accordingly. For patients wishing to see a counsellor direct, you can contact Maggie Witherick on 01608 685056. Maggie has been attached to Sibford Surgery as our counsellor for 10 years.

Family Planning

A full service is available during normal surgery hours from the Doctors and Gilian Soden. If “morning after” contraception is needed, you should contact the surgery as soon as possible.

For the most effective emergency contraception, it is advisable to use it as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse.

Minor Surgery

The Surgery is equipped for the Doctors to perform minor surgical procedures. Please see a Doctor for an initial discussion.

“MOT’s”

A full health check with Gilian Soden, our Practice Nurse, including measuring your blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and weight, and discussing your health and lifestyle. Appointments are available from Reception.

Giving Up Smoking

Any patients who would like help or information on smoking and how to stop are invited to make an appointment with the Smoking Cessation Counsellor, Mrs Erica Wimbush - Practice Nurse.

Travel Vaccinations

We provide a full range of travel vaccinations. It is important to find out in good time what you will need. Generally we ask you to contact the surgery at least 2 months before you intend to travel. Please note that there is a charge for certain vaccinations.

For the most up to date travel advice please use www.masta-travel-health.com or telephone them on 0113 238 7500.
