Everyone
working for the NHS has a
legal duty to keep
information about you
confidential. Patient
information is held in
confidence within the
practice according to data
protection legislation. At
times we may need to share
information with other
professionals involved in
your care within the NHS. We
will always ask for your
consent if anyone else
requests information about
you. You have right of
access to your own records
and we are always happy to
arrange this on request –
please note there will be a
charge for providing copies.
The NHS are planning to
implement a 'central spine'
which they hope will improve
patient care. It will allow
hospitals and other care
providers to access you
medical records easily to
offer immediate up to date
care. However if you do not
want this to happen please
let us know.
